It is an interesting town and has developed over the years. One of the attractions in Taber is the Taber Golf Club. It is on an old mine and is open to the public and offers 18 holes of golf. It has a flat terrain but windy conditions.
However, the course has some challenges. There is also a proshop, cart rental and lessons. Taber is actually the corn capital of Canada. With the decline of coal mining brought the development of irrigation. The Irrigation Impact Museum will show you this information and the tracts of surrounding land that now grows sugar, beets and corn. Taber grows very sweet corn because of the climate which is cool at night and hot during the day. It is also home to Cornfest which is held every August and brings many visitors and tourists. It includes an arts and crafts fair, live entertainment and loads of sweet corn.
