There is so much to do in the summer with water-skiing, boating and many sandy beaches perfect for those picnics and lunches. You can also visit the Kettle Valley Steam Railway which is very interesting. The George Ryga Centre is a heritage building named after the Canadian writer and it is the site for cultural events, retreats and more.
The summer land Museum has many items including hand carved pieces from India from 1750, pottery from 1920, archives, textiles, tapestries and human history. There are many parks and gardens including the Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park, Summerland Ornamental Gardens, Okanagan Lake Provincial Park, and Sun Oka Beach Provincial Park.
