The name Oshawa means, “That point at the crossing of the stream where the canoe was exchanged for the trail.”One of the many attractions in Oshawa is the Canadian Automotive Museum that is a history of the nation’s motorized vehicles with 65 on display form 1898 to today. In downtown Oshawa you can enjoy the many murals that are painted by Canadian artists.
The Park wood Estate is the former home of the GM member Sam McLaughlin and it has 55 rooms and over 30 are open to the public and it is also a very popular wedding and filming area. If you like planes then you will want to check out the Aviation Expo which is the largest in Canada. There are the parks and gardens one of which is the Second Marsh. It is a piece of Lake Ontario’s wetlands. You can see birds, plants, frogs and more. The Darlington Provincial Park is east of Oshawa and has many bird species. There is a small cemetery and pioneer cabin.
