Matane

This city is on the Gaspe Peninsula on the shore of the Saint Lawrence River and the mouth of the Matane River. In Matane one of the attractions you can visit the Seigneurie du Chevreuill with 75 live deer that will actually walk up to you for food. You can feed them, pet them and take pictures.

The Joseph Roluleau cultural center is an exhibition of Claude Pichers paintings. He spent the last 20 years of his life capturing the beauty of this region. Speaking of beauty you can visit The Redford Gardens at Metis. The property was turned into a summer garden with 4,000 acres and 3,000 plant species.

The garden has paths that lead to a lodge that is a 37 room villa. There is an exhibition, drawing room and food. If you are looking for a fun afternoon or a weekend night then you can go bowling. There are three bowling alleys in Matane. The oldest one being the Salle de quills de Matane.
