Kanata is a suburban community located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is the home of the Ottawa Senators the hockey team. The name comes from the Indian term for a cluster of dwellings.
There are many technical and communications companies in this area. There is also the Kanata Symphony Orchestra for those music buffs. It is actually a legend in Kanata and run by volunteers. They play a mix of music from classical to pop.
If you prefer skiing there is the Kanata Nordic Ski Club with adult and youth programs. Kanata also has a skating club and sailing club with Lasers, Albacores and Hobie Catamarans. The Kanata Golf and Country Club was designed by the Toronto architect Thomas McBroom. It has mounds and bunkers and small to medium sized greens. It has trees and rolling fairways and is a beautiful setting for an afternoon of golf. In fact, Kanata is known for challenging and maintained courses.
