Isle-aux-Coudres

This isle is in the middle of the St. Lawrence River and is an island settled in 1728 and named by Jacque Cartier because of all the hazel trees.

It is a definite tourist destination full and history as well as entertainment. To learn more about the maritime heritage and pioneers you can visit the Musee Les Voitures d-Eau and the Musee d Isle-aux-Coudres and Les Moulins de l`Isle-aux-Coudres.

There are bike tours around the island and signs to direct you to your destination. There are many gourmet shops and restaurants that offer many dishes. At the Les Vergers Pednault you can actually roam around orchards and pick your own fresh fruit and buy jams, ciders and artistic goods. Visitors can also take a trip to the Charlevoix Island and marvel at its beauty and charm. If you like cars especially bugs there is the Bug-Out-Isle-aux-Coudres where the owners of new and old Volkswagens can meet at this three day event.
