This town is located in the Hautes Laurentides in Quebec, Canada. It is located at the foot of the mountain termed the “devil.” The scenery here is breathtaking with the Mount Sir Wilfred Laurier with its soaring peaks and the natural water slides. The falling Windigo and the overwhelming Baskatong inland sea.
It is inhabited by a hundred small islands who incredible sandy beaches. The shores are lined with red and white pines. The fishing here is great with walleyes, pike, trout and sturgeon. On low tide apparently the church steeple that was drowned by flood waters in the old days can be seen in the water.
For relaxation you can visit the Baie du Diable and the Beach Windigo on the Windigo Lake. The fall Windigo which means, “The Cannibal Giant of the Forest” is a huge rock which flows the river water to form a natural waterslide. You can walk along a path and wooden bridge and find the perfect sport for a picnic with family and friends.
