Dead Man’s Flats is located in Alberta, Canada. It is just off the TransCanada highway and minutes from Canmore. It is much more quiet then many of the other resort towns.
There are legends behind the ominous name. One is about two Aboriginal beaver trappers who smeared themselves with the beaver blood to avoid being caught by the park warden. However, the area is full of wildlife despite the name. Here in Deads Man’s Flats you can take a sightseeing tour from a helicopter.
You can also visit the Banff National Park which is full of wildlife and history and has glaciers and mountain peaks to greet you. There is also the Bow River which is frequented by fly fishers, kayakers, birdwatchers and canoeists and the Gap Lake where you can fish and take out small boats. There are four mountains in this region to explore. There is Ships Prow Mountain, Ha Ling Peak, Mount Lawrence Grassi and Grotto Mountain.
