Campbell River

Canada tours and signtseeing

Campbell River is located on the central east coast of Vancouver Island, Canada. It is known as the Salmon Capital of the World! If you want an outdoor adventure then stroll along the Discovery Pier and take in all the wildlife. You can view Quadra Island and the mountains. This city is also the gateway to Strathcona Park and the Discovery Islands.

Strathcona Park is great for fly fishing and full of Rainbow Trout. There is also Elk Falls Provincial Park that has an 80 foot waterfall. There is a trail to the Quinsam Salmon Hatchery and there is also Canyon View Trail for walking, jogging, biking etc.

If you are a snow lover then in the winter months you can visit the Mount Washington Alpine Resort. One of the most amazing attractions is the thousands of caves around Campbell River. There are the Horne Lake Caves, Artlish River Caves and the Little Huson Cave. Of course you can hit the beach and do some snorkelling with the salmon or visit the Desolation Sound Provincial Marine Park.
